If I had to rate my week, it would be:
- Highway miles 11/10
- Time with kids 3/10
- WiFi Setups attempted 2
- Cleaning sessions survived: infinite
- Working while driving: 0/10 ⭐ do not recommend
We’re almost through the move. Rob’s in the rental, the house is closing soon, and I’ve been back and forth so many times this week I could drive the Thruway with my eyes closed (don’t worry I haven’t, mostly.)
Here’s what this week actually looked like:
- Dropped the kids at school with Mom’s help
- Drove straight to the rental
- Texted clients and created content while driving, again don’t @ me
- Made a million store runs for random things like trash cans and a coax cable. (Don’t tell Rob that I threw about 25 of them away.)
- Onboarded a client and by that I mean, I threw them into the Lion’s Den with very little instruction. Not my finest hour, but I’ll sort it out next week.
- Dropped the ball on another client, I suck. I’m sorry.
- Drove back to see the kids, hugged them for five minutes, then reloaded the Expedition
- A quick pit stop at the bestie’s where the drinks were cold and I do my best thinking when I’m
drinking, at Erica’s 😉
- Back to the rental house…and then cleaning. So. Much. Cleaning.
It wasn’t polished. It wasn’t balanced. But the work got done (mostly).
Am I tired? Absolutely.
Am I grateful? 100%
Grateful to have a business that fits around my actual life. Grateful for clients who trust me even when things are a little messy. Grateful that this work still feels like something I want to do, not something I’m just surviving.
If you’re in a season where everything feels like a moving target, just know: you’re not alone. You can still build something solid, even when life is anything but.
