Fun fact: Before I became a podcast producer, I never listened to podcasts.
Like… ever.
They just weren’t my thing. Listening felt boring when I constantly needed to move, do, check things off a list, and chase the next idea.
Plot twist: I started editing videos for a client’s podcast, and I love them. Not necessarily as a listener (still working on that attention span), but as a marketer? Obsessed.
Now I’m elbows-deep in audio edits most days, pulling out the best moments, crafting content from conversations, and yes — I may get a little salty when people don’t use the juicy clips I highlight. 😂
Here’s the thing: podcasts are such an underrated marketing tool, especially for small businesses.
They do three things:
- Build trust faster than Instagram ever could
- Create a deeper personal connection than this blog post
- Give you endless content to repurpose across all your platforms
Whether you start your own or just guest on a few — podcasts are one of the lowest-lift, highest-impact ways to grow your reach and actually talk about your business in a way that feels easy and real.
So yeah. I never thought I’d be a podcast girlie. But here we are. 😅
Now I’m curious — what in your life or business surprised you once you got into it?
