It’s been…a week. We’ve kind of moved into our rental house, which currently feels more like a squatter situation than a home. We’re all sleeping on air mattresses, except for my youngest who has an actual bed. The audacity.
The house itself? Totally fine. Quiet neighborhood with Stepford vibes, good schools, and paint colors that scream, “Not a single adult was consulted.” The office is full-on Joker purple. A villian origin story in the making. But we’re rolling with it.
Honestly though, the mornings have been my favorite. I pour myself a cup of terrible coffee (the good machine is packed away at the house) and raw dog it in a $2 ceramic mug as I take a walk around the neighborhood. It’s weirdly peaceful. And humbling. And a little “main character energy” if I’m being real.
The girls are adjusting. Mildly getting along. Summer mode is in full effect. And they’re thrilled to be near their big cousin, who graduates tomorrow! brb going to go sob in the corner. Side bar: what do high school grads want besides money? Like is there a trendy candle or an emotional support water bottle I should be aware of? Send help. And links.
So yeah, life lately is a beautiful blend of chaos and thriving. We’re figuring it out one air mattress and a shitty cup of coffee at a time.

Hot Take of the Week: CapCut’s New Terms Are Sketchy AF
If you’re using CapCut to edit your videos, you need to read the fine print on the new terms of service. 🚩 🚩 🚩
Let me break it down for you:
👉 As of June 12, CapCut can legally use anything you upload forever.
👉 Yup! Videos, drafts, voiceovers, your face, your voice, your dog in the background, it’s all fair game.
👉 They can edit, sell, post, and use it in ads…without asking you, paying you or even telling you.
👉 And even if you delete your video or account? Doesn’t matter. They still have rights to your content.
👉 Basically by uploading a file, you’re handing over a lifetime, worldwide permission slip. For free.
👉 So if you wouldn’t want it on a billboard in Times Square next to a logo that says “CapCut made this,” maybe don’t upload it there.
You can still use it for inspo or temp edits if you need, but you’re better off picking a platform that respects creators. Some options are InShot, Instagram Edits, and Splice.
You’ve been warned. 😬
